Epic Traverse Hidalgo is designed for athletes with experience in endurance racing, mountain biking, adventure racing, expedition events and technical outdoor environments. The event draws athletes who have competed in events with genuine terrain and logistical demands.
International athletes receive English-language communication, documentation and briefing support throughout the event process. All critical event materials are published in both English and Spanish.

Hidalgo is accessible in under three hours by road from Mexico City International Airport. This makes the state a practical destination for athletes arriving from international routes through CDMX.
Fly into Mexico City International Airport (AICM — Benito Juárez) or the Nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional Felipe Ángeles (AIFA). Both provide ground access to Hidalgo.
Ground transfer from Mexico City to Hidalgo's event base is approximately 2 to 3 hours by road depending on destination zone. Rental vehicles, private transfers and event-coordinated transport options will be detailed in the Athlete Handbook.
Athletes travelling with bikes should consult their airline's bike transport policies in advance. Bike assembly and storage logistics at the event venue are detailed in the Athlete Handbook issued after registration confirmation.
International athletes are advised to arrive a minimum of two days before race day to allow for acclimatization, equipment verification and mandatory briefing attendance. Specific arrival windows are communicated in the event schedule.
The mountain bike stage operates at elevations up to approximately 2,400 metres. Athletes not accustomed to altitude should factor acclimatization time into their arrival planning. The canyon and paddle stages operate at lower elevations.
